If there’s one thing you can count on at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, it’s that a stunning Mercedes-Benz concept will be in attendance. However, stunning is quite the understatement when describing the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 Cabriolet.

"The Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 Cabriolet takes modern luxury into the realms of the ultimate in luxury, and is the perfect embodiment of our design strategy. Breathtaking proportions combined with a luxurious "haute couture" interior help to create the ultimate experience," explains Gorden Wagener, Chief Design Officer of Daimler AG.

This year’s Vision concept is an evolution of the one shown at last year’s event, which explored the future of luxury driving through both design and mechanics. As its name suggests, the updated Vision concept’s most notable update is that it trades a hard top roof for a soft top convertible one, further embodying the automaker’s Sensual Purity design philosophy. An extended “boat tail” rear and 24-inch light-alloy wheels with a rose gold center lock also compliment this aesthetic choice.

Inside the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 Cabriolet, the “open-air luxury lounge” remains similar to the outgoing concept. Following updates with the automaker’s user experience technology, the concept now features a more advanced Concierge function, as well as biometric sensors that can read the mind and health status of the vehicle’s occupants.

Mercedes-Benz also divulged more information on the Vision concept’s technological underpinnings. With four compact permanent magnet synchronous electric motors producing 750 horsepower, a 200-mile all-electric range and a charging system that operates at record speeds, the Vision concept presents quite an exciting future for luxury driving.
