The highly anticipated 2018 E-Class Coupe and its drop-top sibling, the Cabriolet, are the newest models to join the 10th generation E-Class family, which underwent a major redesign for the 2017 model year. Get a sneak peek of both models before they make their way to showrooms later this year below.
Meet the Models
There are very few design differences between the Coupe and the Cabriolet, aside from the latter’s soft-top convertible roof. Both models come in two-door body styles, with seating for up to four (Cabriolet) or five (Coupe). Buyers can choose between two models: E400 and E400 4Matic.
Those who opt for the Cabriolet can choose from four roof colors: red, black, dark blue or dark brown. The automated roof takes 20 seconds to open/close, and is equipped with technology like neck-level heaters and an electrically-operated wind blocker to help reduce discomfort at higher speeds.

Elegant E-Class Design
The E-Class sedan informs the styling for the models, both inside and out. The juxtaposition between the long hood and short back end, as well as eye-catching LED headlights, frameless windows and absent B-pillars, are just a few of the common design elements shared between the lineup.
Inside, the Coupe and Cabriolet also feature the new cockpit-inspired cabin that is reminiscent of the top-of-the-line S-Class. Standard luxury appointments include wood trim, plush leatherette seating, ambient lighting and a 12.3-inch COMAND display. Also available is an additional 12.3-inch instrument cluster screen that seamlessly integrates with the infotainment display, a feature that is also quite inspired by the S-Class.

?Powerful V6 Performance
The Coupe and Cabriolet each pack a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 capable of 329 horsepower and 354 pound-feet of torque. A newly calibrated 9-speed automatic transmission delivers power to the rear wheels, or a 4Matic all-wheel drive system if so equipped.
Safety Technology
Both models are equipped with advanced driver assist technology, including smart high beams, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, and pedestrian detection. Additionally, they can be had with Mercedes-Benz’s Drive Pilot system, which allows the vehicle to drive itself in select road conditions.
