Mercedes-Benz USA Gets a New CEO
Mercedes-Benz has announced that Dimitris Psillakis will be stepping down as CEO of Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) to transition into a new role as Senior Strategic Advisor. Beginning July 1st, Adam Chamberlain will take over as CEO of MBUSA. In addition to this new role, Chamberlain will also serve as Head of Marketing and Sales for Mercedes-Benz Cars North America.
The news was shared by Mathias Geisen, Member of the Board of Management at Mercedes-Benz Group AG, responsible for Marketing and Sales. “We’re excited to welcome Adam back to Mercedes-Benz,” said Geisen. “He brings more than 30 years of global automotive experience, including the past nine years in the U.S. At the same time, we’re extremely grateful to Dimitris for his dedication and leadership. We're pleased that he’ll continue supporting our strategic direction in an advisory capacity through the end of the year.”
Dimitris Psillakis, who officially exits his CEO role on July 1, has spent 33 years with Mercedes-Benz. His leadership journey has taken him across South America, Asia, Europe, and the U.S., and he previously served as Head of Sales for North America in 2020.
Adam Chamberlain returns to Mercedes-Benz from his most recent position as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Lithia & Driveway, one of the largest automotive groups in North America. In that role, he oversaw over 300 dealerships and managed more than $30 billion in revenue. As CEO of MBUSA, he will lead a workforce of 16,000 employees and collaborate with more than 380 dealer partners in the U.S., along with 59 additional dealerships in Canada. Chamberlain currently resides in Atlanta with his family.
