Mercedes-Benz is currently working to create a new sub-brand of electric vehicles, which they hope will compete with the rise of luxury electric cars from automakers like Tesla.
This line will sport four new electric models, including two sedans and two SUVs. According to Bloomberg, the new sub-brand has not been named yet, but it’s exciting that the luxury automaker is considering a whole new branding idea for its electric cars, setting themselves apart from competitors like BMW.
Many people suspect that we’ll see the debut of a new electric car from Mercedes-Benz at the Paris Motor Show this month, giving shoppers a first-hand look at what the future of this sub-brand might be. Several sources have indicated that the new car will be an all-wheel-drive concept that sports a 300-mile, all-electric range, which will put it at the top of the electric-car market.
Mercedes-Benz isn’t floating out its green car models to a separate brand all-together though, as the luxury carmaker also plans to begin production of a new fuel-cell version of their popular GLC SUV.
