Todd A Williams painting

If a picture paints a thousand words, then a painting with its deliberate strokes and complex structure surely is worth even more. With over 100 paintings in his “The Legacy of Nebraska” collection, local painter Todd A. Williams tells of the deep history and diverse stories of our majestic state. On display from now until June 4, 2017, don’t miss out on experiencing this magnificent display for yourself.

There are few artists who can capture the profound beauty of the Midwest as well as Todd A. Williams. An Impressionist painter homegrown in Central City, Williams’ art is representative of each of the 93 counties of Nebraska. In fact, he worked closely with historians, leaders and many others to develop important subjects and representative elements for the collection.

From honoring the Native Americans and early settlers who lived on this land long ago to depicting the progress made over the last century, there is no part of Nebraskan history left out of this collection. Iconic subjects include the Pony Express, Oregon Trail, Lewis and Clark’s expedition, and the building of the First National Tower in Omaha, just to name a few.

While you’re touring the museum, be sure to check out some of the other collections—including “Nebraska Unwrapped: Selections from the Collections” and “The Strange and Wonderful Masks of Doane Powell”—as well as one of the many other fun and educational events the museum routinely holds.
