What's New For The 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE?

The Mercedes-Benz GLE is all-new for the 2020 model year. On the exterior, the GLE receives an updated look that includes a new grille with a chrome bar running through the middle and a large Mercedes-Benz logo at its center. Around the sides, the GLE offers a larger greenhouse to provide more visibility for the driver. On the inside, the technology, seating, and features have been completely revamped. There are also new powertrains available.

Which Trims & Features are Available for 2020?

The GLE is available in two trims. The GLE 350 4MATIC® SUV is the base model that features an Eco start/stop system, AMG® body styling, power front seats, heated front seats, and voice controls. The GLE 350 also offers a number of optional features including the AMG® line exterior package, 3rd-row seating package, MBUX Technology Package, and Advanced Lighting Package.

The top of the line GLE 450 4MATIC® SUV comes standard with a more powerful engine and a sportier design. Standard features on the GLE 450 include an EQ Boost Starter/Generator, power front seats, ventilated front seats, the MBUX interior assistant and voice control. Optional features available on the GLE 450 include the AMG Line with Night Package, Warmth & Comfort Package, MBUX Technology Package, and Air Balance Package.

2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE Powertrain Options

2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE Exterior FrontThe GLE 350 4MATIC® SUV comes standard with a 2.0 Liter Inline-4 Turbo Engine that offers up to 255 horsepower at 5,800 to 6,100 rpm and 273 foot-pounds of torque. The GLE 350 powertrain is paired with a 9G-TRONIC 9-speed and 4MATIC® permanent all-wheel drive. IN a 0 to 60 performance time test, the GLE 350 is able to reach a time of 7.1 seconds.

The GLE 450 4MATIC® SUV comes standard with a 3.0 Liter Inline-6 Turbo Engine with EQ Boost that offers up to 362 horsepower at 5,500 to 6,100 rpm and 369 foot-pounds of torque. The GLE 450 powertrain is paired with a 9G-TRONIC 9-speed and 4MATIC® permanent all-wheel drive. IN a 0 to 60 performance time test, the GLE 350 is able to reach a time of 5.5 seconds.

Safety Features in the Forefront for 2020

2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE Exterior RearThe 2020 GLE comes standard with a number of advanced standard safety features. All GLE models come standard with Active Brake Assist, Blind Spot Assist, 9 airbags, and a Rearview camera. All models also come with Mercedes-Benz PRESAFE® and PRESAFE® Sound. PRESAFE® and PRESAFE® Sound are all-new Mercedes-Benz technology features that anticipate an accident and take precautions to protect the driver and the passengers. When a collision or rollover is imminent, the PRESAFE® system will tighten the seatbelts, adjust the passengers' seat, close the sunroof and windows. With PRESAFE® Sound, the vehicle will emit a sound that will help protect the passengers' ears during an accident. If there is no accident, the PRESAFE® system will open the sunroof and windows, loosen the seat belts and return the seats to their normal position.
